Getting started

What is OrderCtrl?

A post-purchase platform for WooCommerce. It tracks every shipment, gives customers a branded portal to track, change and report orders, and gives your team returns, protection, automations and analytics in one place.

Which platforms do you support?

WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions today. Shopify and BigCommerce are coming soon.

How do I connect my store?

Sign up, enter your store address and approve access in your WooCommerce admin. OrderCtrl then checks where your tracking numbers live and imports recent orders.

Do I need a plugin?

Only for package protection and store sign-in sync, which use the OrderCtrl plugin for WordPress. Everything else works through the WooCommerce connection.

Tracking & portal

Which carriers are supported?

More than 50, including USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Canada Post, Royal Mail, Australia Post and Purolator.

Where does OrderCtrl get tracking numbers?

Two ways, and you can use both. Add a number or buy a label on the order in OrderCtrl, and it’s saved to the WooCommerce order in the same format the Shipment Tracking plugin uses. Or let OrderCtrl read numbers from the Shipment Tracking plugin, a custom order field you choose, or order notes. You can test the setup on a real order.

Do I still need a tracking plugin or tracking service?

Usually not. OrderCtrl adds tracking to the order, tracks the package, runs the branded tracking page and sends the shipping emails. Keep a tracking plugin only if you want WooCommerce’s own emails and My Account page to show tracking links, since WooCommerce doesn’t display them by default.

Can I buy shipping labels in OrderCtrl?

Yes. On any order, compare rates from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL Express and Canada Post, buy one and print it as a 4×6 or letter PDF, PNG or ZPL. Pay with OrderCtrl credits through our label account, or connect your own Shippo or EasyPost account. The tracking number syncs to WooCommerce and live tracking starts right away.

How do customers sign in?

With a 6-digit code sent to their email. There’s no password. Guests can look up a single order by order number, tracking number or ZIP code.

Can customers manage their addresses and payment methods?

Yes. Signed-in customers keep an address book with multiple billing and shipping addresses, which WooCommerce doesn’t offer natively. They also manage their saved payment methods, and can update the address and card on a subscription.

Returns, claims & protection

What can customers report?

Change-of-mind returns (no longer needed, found a better price, changed their mind), damaged, missing or wrong items, packages marked delivered but not received, lost packages and delays, with photos.

What fixes can I offer?

Refunds to the original payment, store credit (with an optional bonus), exchanges and replacement orders.

Do you take a cut of protection fees?

No. Customers pay the fee to your store and you keep all of it.

Subscriptions

Which subscription plugin works?

WooCommerce Subscriptions.

What can customers change?

They can pause, skip the next order, change the delivery date or frequency, swap products, skip an item once, update their address and payment method, and cancel. You decide which of these to allow.

Billing

How does pricing work?

Plans are based on how many shipments you track each month. Every plan includes every feature.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, with 100 tracked shipments a month.
